Analysis and Promotion Strategy for the Comparative Advantage of Pineapple Production in Hainan Province
Pineapple is a vital component of tropical fruits in Hainan.The pineapple industry development is crucial for promoting the efficient development of tropical characteristic agriculture in Hainan.This paper addresses the comparative advantage of Hainan pineapple production based on location quotient(LQ),scale advantage index(SAI),efficiency advantage index(EAI),comprehensive comparative advantage index(AAI),and four other indicators according to mathematical statistics and comparisons.Five dominating pineapple cultivars with comparative advantages were analyzed in Hainan,Guangdong,Yunnan,Guangxi,and Fujian.The results showed that compared with other prime provinces,Hainan pineapple production has a high-scale comparative advantage at an outstanding professional level but lacks an efficiency advantage.However,the com-parative advantage of Hainan pineapple production is a declining trend.By combining the competitiveness analysis and de-velopment reality,the efficient development of the Hainan pineapple industry is put forward from production management technology,mechanization level,and variety structure adjustment.
