Research Progress on the Agarwood-Induced Method and Technology
Agarwood is a natural mixed substance composed of Aquilaria xylem tissue and its secretions.It is a dual-purpose material for medicine and aroma products with high economic value and use and can be used in pharmaceuticals,aromatherapy,perfume,and daily chemical products.The formation of agarwood is subject to external stress,leading to the synthesis and accumulation of secondary metabolites,which is an accidental and long-term process,resulting in the scarcity of wild agar-wood,making it hard to meet the demand of the agarwood market.Induced artificial agarwood has become an inevitable way to develop the agarwood industry.Currently,the formation of agarwood has been induced by artificial methods,but the yield and quality of the resulting material vary.The summary of agarwood-forming methods and techniques provides a basis for improving the production of artificial agarwood and the development of agarwood industrialization.
