Investigation of the Distribution and Growth Environment of Mikania micrantha H.B.K.on Hainan Island
To investigate the distribution of Mikania micrantha H.B.K.on Hainan Island and to clarify its environmental conditions for growth on Hainan Island,we analyzed the living environment of M.micrantha on Hainan Island through field-work and a review of the relevant literature.The results showed that(1)there are 110 M.micrantha growing sites on Hainan Island,which are distributed in 18 cities and counties in Hainan Province and are more common in the north and less common in the south;(2)M.micrantha is most common at low altitudes along roadsides,forests,and waterfronts;and(3)M.micrantha often accompanies plants of Gramineae,Asteraceae,Leguminosae,and Aspidistrae.The tropical monsoon oceanic climate of Hainan Province provides a favorable environment for the growth and reproduction of M.micrantha.This study can clarify the distribution status of M.micrantha on Hainan Island and provide a fundamental basis for the prevention and control of M.micrantha in Hainan Province.
