Tropical agriculture is a vital link between China and the world's tropical countries.The new era provides a rare and valuable policy opportunity and endows a new historical mission for international cooperation in tropical agriculture.To a great extent,the topic selection of tropical agriculture determines whether the development of international cooperation in tropical agriculture can be carried out smoothly and whether the expected results will be achieved.In this paper,according to the rules and requirements of international cooperation development in tropical agriculture,the logic of topic selection for international cooperation development in tropical agriculture is systematically studied,and a complete logic system for topic selection is proposed.According to the research,we should maintain the correct position and viewpoint in selecting the topic based on the Chinese comparative advantages and revolve around national and global strategic needs.Also,we should take the global value chain of tropical agriculture as the context,combine the characteristics of the tropical agriculture industry and the regional characteristics of the world countries,adopt country comparison research methods,and introduce variables.We should draw from FAO research on global tropical agriculture development topics.The selection of topics should contribute to the achievement of the goal of leading the global scientific and technological innovation in tropical agriculture,the reshaping of global value chains in tropical agriculture,and the pursuit of higher benefits for developing countries in the world's tropical zones.
