Diversity and Protection of Orchid Plants in Xijiang Forest Farm,Guangdong Province
To understand the diversity and distribution characteristics of orchid plants in Xijiang Forest Farm,Guangdong Province,this study conducted a systematic survey using a transect survey method.A total of 15 transects with a total length of 22.47 km were set up,covering various functional areas and habitat types of the forest farm.The results showed(1)There are a total of 13 genera and 14 species of orchids in the Xijiang Forest Farm,including four genera and four species of epiphytic orchids,one genus and one species of semi-epiphytic orchids,and eight genera and eight species of terrestrial orchids,indi-cating that terrestrial orchids are the main species in the Xijiang Forest Farm;(2)In the flora study of genera and species,the orchid family plants in the Xijiang Forest Farm were mainly tropical,accounting for 84.62%and 71.43%of the genera and species,respectively;(3)Twelve orchid plants are included in Appendix II of the CITES.There are 12 species included in the Guangdong Red List of Higher Plants,including four endangered species,two vulnerable species,five near-endangered spe-cies,and one nonendangered species.
