Breeding of a New,High O/L Ratio,Disease-resistant,Red-skinned Peanut Variety,Puhua 60,and Cultivation Techniques
For plants with a high O/L ratio, the disease-resistant,red-skinned peanut variety Puhua 60 was generated via a cross between the red-skinned peanut Zhanhong 2(the female parent)and Quanhua 10(the male parent)through years of di-rectional selection. The productivity, agronomic traits, quality traits, and disease resistance of Puhua 60 were studied. The results showed that Puhua 60 had a high yield of pod and kernel, the seed coat was dark red,the average pod yield of two years was 3 982.3 kg·hm-2,the kernel yield of Puhua 60 was higher than that of Puhua 60,the yield of this variety was 10.79%higher than that of the control variety Quanhua 7,and the average kernel yield was 2 726.0 kg·hm-2,which was higher than that of Quanhua 7 by 8.36%.It was moderately resistant to bacterial wilt and highly resistant to rust and leaf spot, with an average O/L ratio of 2.36,higher oil content, and better marketability. It passed the national nonmajor crop variety registration[GPD(2022)350212]in December 2022.This technique should be promoted for peanut cultivation in Fujian Province.
