Fici hirtae Radix,a Chinese medicinal material,has a long history of being used as medicine and food in the Lingnan region.This material is widely used for strengthening the spleen and stomach,as well as making people breathe smoothly and moisturize.However,the varieties of Fici hirtae Radix are difficult to control.Moreover,the gatherer is an intermingled stem and branch;for these reasons,the Fici Hirtae Radix is a mixed-quality product on the market.This paper reviews the domestic and foreign literature from the past 20 years and summarizes the methods for identifying the efficacy and current quality standards of Fici hirtae Radix to provide a reference for further improvement of the identification and quality evaluation system.
