Enlightenment from the Development of the Guangxi Camellia oleifera Industry from the Perspective of Improving Oil Production Capacity
Camellia oleifera is a unique woody oil plant in South China.Guangxi has a long tradition of planting C.oleifera and consuming tea oil.The existing C.oleifera planting area is more than 566 666.7 hectares,with an annual output of 450 000 t of C.oleifera seeds and 100 000 t of tea oil,and the comprehensive output value is up to more than 40 billion yuan,which is at the forefront of the country.To comprehensively understand the development of the C.oleifera industry in Guangxi,this paper discusses the current development status of the C.oleifera industry in Guangxi,analyzes the problems existing in the C.oleifera industry development in Guangxi,and puts forward development proposals.In 2022,the output of eight major domestic oil crops in China exceeded 70 million t,reaching 71.325 million t;the edible vegetable oil squeezed from domestic oilseeds exceeded 13.5 million t for the first time,which is a record in history,and the self-sufficiency rate of China's edible oil increased significantly.The self-sufficiency rate of edible oil in China has increased dramatically.However,against the background of the vast potential of the oilseed market in China,the Guangxi C.oleifera industry lacks a leading local brand.On the one hand,it is due to the impact of other strong provinces on the domestic C.oleifera industry;on the other hand,the root cause is that the development of the C.oleifera industry in Guangxi is still in the primary stage.Therefore,it is suggested to explore the potential of land,mobilize farmers to plant actively,reduce the production cost of the C.oleifera industry,pro-mote the coordinated development of the C.oleifera industry chain,and cultivate the local tea oil brand to promote better the development of the C.oleifera industry in Guangxi.
