Effect of the Three Application Methods on Control of Spodoptera frugiperda at Different Stages of Maize Growth
To test the effects of different application methods on the damage control in Spodoptera frugiperda and provide a reference for the rational selection and use of medicine, according to the relevant standards of the"Guidelines for Field Effi-cacy Trials of Pesticides",the control effects of three application methods on Spodoptera frugiperda in maize fields were measured via seed coating, leaf spraying, and heart leaf point application. The maximum control effects of 50%Chloroben-zamide FS and 40%Bromofenamide·Thiamethoxam FS were 83.88%and 83.84%,respectively,at 14 days after emergence. The control effectiveness against Spodoptera frugiperda larvae was 88.92%for Mamestra brassicae multiple NPV and 84.70%for spodopteralitura NPV.The control effects of acarbazide, fluvulurea, and subicarbazide were 86.52%,84.26%,and 81.44%,respectively.The control efficiency of fenacil, tetrazolamide, bromofluramide, ethidocidin, and emamectin benzoate exceeded 88%.The comprehensive control measures of seed treatment agents+leaf sprays or seed treatment agents+trumpet point application should be adopted, and different insecticides with different modes of action should be used in rotation to delay the generation of resistance.
