Microecological Regulatory and Control Effects on Three Viral Vector Insects by Intercropping Capsicum with Sweet Maize
To effectively and greenly prevent and control three virus vector insects in the main capsicum production area of Hainan, microecological regulation and control effects on Myzus persicae,Thrips palmi, and Bemisia tabaci by intercropping capsicum with sweet maize were conducted with the sweet maize YT29,the aphid-resistant capsicum cultivar ZDC and the aphid-susceptible capsicum cultivar DYJJ as tested materials. The results revealed that ZDC-4/YT29 and ZDC-3/YT29 had the best microecological regulation and control effects on M.persicae,T.palmi,and B.tabaci, with average insect damage indices significantly lower than those of ZDC-2/YT29,ZDC-1/YT29,ZDC,DYJJ-4/YT29,DYJJ-3/YT29,DYJJ-2/YT29,DYJJ-1/YT29 and DYJJ.ZDC-2/YT29 also had better microecological regulation and control effects on M.persicae,T.palmi,and B.tabaci, with average insect damage indices significantly lower than those of ZDC-1/YT29,ZDC,DYJJ-4/YT29,DYJJ-3/YT29,DYJJ-2/YT29,DYJJ-1/YT29 and DYJJ.The effects of microecological regulation and control effects on m.persicae,T.palmi,and B.tabaci under ZDC-1/YT29,DYJJ-4/YT29,DYJJ-3/YT29,and ZDC were not significantly different, but the average insect damage index was remarkably lower than those under DYJJ-2/YT29,DYJJ-1/YT2,and DYJJ.Verifica-tion of the effects in Sanya,Dongfang, and Danzhou indicated that ZDC-4/YT29 and ZDC-3/YT29 had stable ecological regulatory effects on peach aphids, palm thrips, and tobacco whiteflies. However, there were significant differences in the regulation effects of ZDC-2/YT29 among the three regions. These results indicate that the intercropping model of ZDC-3/YT29 and ZDC-4/YT29 can be widely applied for microecological regulation and to control M.persicae,T.palmi,and B.tabaci in the main capsicum production area of Hainan.
