Diversity of Lianas Resources in the Shimentai National Nature Reserve,Guangdong
Based on a comprehensive survey of plant resources in the Shimentai Nature Reserve,Guangdong Province, the species composition, floristic composition, and life pattern characteristics of liana plants were analyzed. The results revealed that there were 262 species of wild lianas in the Shimentai Nature Reserve, belonging to 135 genera in 53 families.Specifically, the liana species on the reserve were predominantly Dicotyledonous species(228 species,87.0% ),with fewer pteridophytes(4 species,1.5% )and gymnosperms(2 species,0.8% ).The species-to-genus ratio of lianas in this area was 1.94,and the species density per unit area was 7.81 species·km‒2.Additionally,the families were mainly composed of oligotypic families(22 fami-lies,44.0% ),monotypic families(14 families,28.0% )and middle families(12 families,24.0% ),with a low proportion of large species families(2 families,4.0% ).At the genus level,it was predominantly composed of monotypic genera(84 genera,62.2% ),oligotypic genera(48 genera,35.6% ),with a scarcity of large genera. The liana plants in this nature reserve were dominated by tropical families and genera, with a notable presence of temperate floristic components.Furthermore, the prime life forms of lianas are woody, evergreen, and high bud types, characterized by papery, whole margins, and single leaves and winding climbing methods. In summary, the liana resources in the Shimentai National Nature Reserve are abundant and exhibit diverse ecological habits and complex floral composition, highlighting the climatic characteristics of this region.
