Investigation and Niche Analysis of Weed Diversity in Coffee Plantations in Southwest Yunnan Province
This study aims to clarify the community characteristics and species diversity of weeds in coffee plantations in Southwest Yunnan Province. This study also aimed to compare community diversity, analyze the niche width and overlap of weeds, and provide guidance for weed management and regional adaptive planting in coffee plantations.A five-point sampling method was used to investigate weed species, quantity, and coverage in 93 plots of 31 coffee plantations in southwestern Yun-nan.The relative dominance, species diversity, similarity, and ecological niches of weed communities were analyzed. There were 218 weed species belonging to 69 families and 169 genera in the coffee garden in southwestern Yunnan. The Asteraceae family had the most weed species(30),followed by Poaceae and Fabaceae(26 and 15 species, respectively).Ageratum cony-zoides,Bidens pilosa,Erigeron sumatrensis,Spermacoce alata,Chromolaena odorata,Crassocephalum rubens,Eleusine in-dica,Digitaria sanguinalis and other weed species were dominant.Among the 16 weeds with a relative dominance degree RA>6.00,12 were alien invasive weeds, accounting for 75%of the total.Ninger County,Simao District,Jiangcheng County,Mojiang County,Menglian County, and other counties presented relatively high diversity, many weed species, and high com-munity diversity.A.conyzoides,Cyperus rotundus,B.pilosa,E.sumatrensis,and Erigeron canadensis had large niche widths in coffee plantations in Southwest Yunnan, indicating high resource utilization diversity. There were ten weed species pairs with niche overlap values Ojk≥0.700,accounting for 8.33%of the total logarithm. There were also 46 weed species pairs with niche overlap values Ojk≥0.500,accounting for 38.33%of the total logarithm. The diversity of weeds in coffee plantations in southwestern Yunnan is high, and the main species of harm are Compositae weeds.Coffee plantations are facing urgent chal-lenges in weed control, and one of the vital reasons for this is the crucial problem of alien invasive weeds.
