Effects of Different Treatments on the Growth of Camellia osmantha Cuttings
The semi-woody branches of the Camellia osmantha"Yichen"were used as scions. The effects of three rooting agents(alcohol, root sun, indole butyric acid)at three concentrations(800,1 000,and 1 200 mg·L-1)on the growth of C.os-mantha were investigated to study the effects of different rooting agent treatments on the development of C.osmantha cuttings and to provide a reference for the optimization and improvement of the seedling raising technology of C.osmantha cuttings. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different treatments on the growth of C.osmantha cuttings and to pro-vide a reference for the optimization and improvement of C.osmantha seedling nursery technology. The results revealed that the seedling height reached a maximum of 8.83 cm in the 800 mg·L-1 Gentaiyan treatment, which was 89.08%higher than that in the 1 000 mg·L-1 alcohol treatment, with a significant difference(p<0.05).The diameter of the ground samples reached a maximum in the 1 200 mg·L-1 at indole butyric acid treatment(3.07 mm),which was higher than that in the 800 mg·L-1 alco-hol treatment(by 4.42%),with no significant difference(p>0.05).The fresh weight of the above-ground part, fresh weight of the below-ground part, total fresh weight, dry weight of the above-ground part, dry weight of the below-ground part, and total dry weight were greatest in the 1 200 mg·L-1 indole butyric acid treatment. The root-crown ratio and root-to-whole-plant ratio were greatest under the 1 200 mg·L-1 alcohol treatment of C.osmantha.The results revealed that the 1 200 mg·L-1 indole butyric acid treatment had the highest mean value of affiliation, which shows that the 1 200 mg·L-1 indole butyric acid treat-ment is the best and can promote the rooting of scented C.osmantha seedlings, thus promoting their growth and development.
