Effects of the Combined Application of an Organic Fertilizer and a Chemical Fertilizer on the Fruit Yield and Quality of a Green Pomelo
The yield and quality of 4-year-old green pomelo from Hekou County,Yunnan Province, were measured after 2 years of combinedorganic fertilizer and chemical fertilizerapplication.Variance analysis, multiple comparisons, correlation, and principal component analysis were performed for each harvest. To explorethe effects ofdifferent fertilization treatmentson the fruit yield and quality of green pomeloand determine the best fertilizer program. The resultsshowed that the combined application of organicand chemical fertilizerssignificantlyaffectedfruit quantityper plant, yield per plant, and fruit weight per plant. The effects of A(Xinyunye organic fertilizer 5 kg+Basford KH2PO4 1 kg,two months after which 0.5 kg of KH2PO4 was added)and B(Xinyunyeorganic fertilizer 5 kg+Andanonsen KH2PO41 kg)and C(Xinyunye organic fertilizer 5 kg+potassium KH2PO41 kg)were the most significant. There was no significant difference in the effects of the seven treatments on the ap-pearance and shape of the fruit. The taste and appearance of the fruit table treated with A and B were better. The ratio of soluble solid to solid acid in treatment A was the highest, and the ratio of titrable acid was the lowest, followed by that in treatment B.There was a correlation between each output and the quality index. The number of fruits per plant was positively correlated with the yield per plant, the ratio of soluble solid to solid acid. However, the ratios of soluble solids to titrable acid and titrable acid to solid acid were negatively correlated.Through principal component analysis and comprehensiveevaluation, the com-prehensive quality of each fertilizer treatment was better than that of the control.A had the highest score andobtained the highest yield and the best fruit quality.
