Analysis of the Root Sprout Ability of the Progeny of Albizia odoratissima Superior Tree
To understand the root sprouting and growth ability of superior sprout trees planted for three years,12 individual trees were randomly selected for trenching and root cutting to investigate root sprout growth. The results revealed that it took five weeks for Albizia odoratissima to sprout new buds. The main sprouting period was from six to nine weeks and sprouting reached its peak 10 weeks after cut root. The average number of sprouts was 1.8,and the maximum number of sprouts was 6.At 30 weeks, the average diameter of sprouting was 8.9 mm,the average seedling height was 114.9 cm,and the sprouting preservation rate was 70.4%,indicating that A.odoratissima had a strong sprouting ability and rapid growth of seedlings.Seedling height and seedling plot diameter were positively correlated with the root diameter of the mother plant(p<0.01).Sprouting quantity, seedling height, and seedling field diameter were significantly positively correlated with humidity(p<0.01),and root diameter and humidity were the most strongly correlated factors.
