Climatic Indicators and Their Distribution Characteristics of Osmanthus fragrans in the Ornamental Flowering Period in Xianning City
Currently,the forecast of the Osmanthus flowering period is based mainly on the study of fixed areas or fixed varieties,which makes it difficult to meet the needs of tourists to enjoy Osmanthus in autumn.In this work,according to the main Osmanthus appreciation places in Xianning city,the ornamental flowering periods of golden Osmanthus,silver Osman-thus,orange Osmanthus and other varieties are described.However,it is based on the data from the ornamental flowering period of Osmanthus and meteorological data such as temperature and dew point temperature data from Xianning city from 2005 to 2022,the climatic indices and distribution characteristics of Osmanthus fragrans during the orna-mental flowering period were analyzed via the wet accumulation temperature method.The climate index is as follows:from May 20th,when the daily average temperature is ≤33.0 ℃ and the absolute value of the daily accumulated temperature is less than 44 ℃,the cumulative temperature of the wet accumulated temperature is positive when the daily maximum temperature is ≤39 ℃ and the daily average relative humidity is ≥40％,otherwise it is negative.When the cumulative value of the wet accumulated temperature is ≥3 840.5 ℃,Xianning enters the best ornamental period of osmanthus flowers.The average forecast error of this index is±7 d.The average annual ornamental flowering date is September 30th in Xianning.In terms of regional distribution,the average flowering date was 1 d earlier in the western and northern regions and 1 d later in the other places.In vertical distribution,the flowering period of osmanthus flowers is delayed by 1.9 d for every 100 m increase in alti-tude to provide technical support for the forecast of the ornamental flowering period and the future service of the tourism of Osmanthus in Xianning in the future.
