Research Progress on Population Breeding and the Predation of Arma custos
This study summarizes the research results concerning the application of Arma custos as natural enemies in the biological control of agricultural and forestry pests, providing a reference for related research. This article reviews the research progress of A.custos from two aspects:artificial population breeding and predation effects. The main factors affecting the breeding efficiency of the A.custos artificial population include feed, temperature, density, and the male-to-female ratio. The main factors affecting the predation efficiency of the A.custos include insect age,the benefit-to-harm ratio, release density, and pesticide interference. The A.custos preys on a wide variety of pests and has great potential for pest control. It has crucial utilization value in the biological control of pests, and further efforts are needed to strengthen the development, research, and application promotion of related products.
