Relationship between CXCL10 and CCL8 levels in serum and disease severity in children with mycoplasma pneumonia
Objective To investigate relationship between CXC motif chemokine 10(CXCL10),C-C motif chemokine ligand 8(CCL8)levels in serum and disease severity in children with mycoplasma pneumonia(MPP).Methods A total of 97 children with MPP(MPP group)admitted to the Hainan Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University from November 2020 to November 2021 were selected into the MPP group, including 20 at high risk,35 at medium risk and 42 at low risk.In addition,95 healthy children with the same physical examination were selected as the control group. The serum levels of CXCL10 and CCL8 were compared between the two groups.Independent risk factors for MPP severity were analyzed by binary logistic regression.Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between CXCL10,CCL8 levels and CURB-65 score. Results Serum CXCL10 and CCL8 levels in the MPP group were(533.27±161.96)pg/mL and(349.21±120.51)pg/mL,respectively,which were higher than those of the control group(122.35±52.15)pg/mL and(135.68±39.67)pg/mL,which were statistically significant(t=23.762,16.559;all P<0.05).The serum levels of CXCL10 and CCL8 in the middle and high risk group were higher than those in the low risk group, and the serum levels of CXCL10 and CCL8 in the high risk group were higher than those in the middle risk group(F=9.510,6.772;all P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis showed that CXCL10 and CCL8 were independent influencing factors of MPP severity(P<0.05).The levels of serum CXCL10 and CCL8 were positively correlated with CURB-65 score(r=7.926,7.849;all P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that serum CXCL10 and CCL8 had certain diagnostic value for severe MPP,and the sensitivity and specificity of combined diagnosis were better than those of single indicator diagnosis(Z=5.168,5.032;all P<0.05).Conclusions The serum levels of CXCL10 and CCL8 in children with MPP increased, and they were the main factors affecting the severity of MPP,which had certain guiding value in predicting the severity of MPP.
