Status and influence factors of knowledge-attitude-practice about bongkrekic acid in the residents of Guangzhou
Objective To understand the status of knowledge,attitude and practice(KAP)on bongkrekic acid and the influencing factors among the residents,and provide reference for the development of preventive measures and health education strategies for the food poisoning incident of bongkrekic acid.Methods The demographic characteristics,knowledge,attitude and practice of bongkrekic acid were investigated by questionnaire online in April 29th-May 3rd 2023.After adjusting the weights of the survey respondents according to their gender and age,the scores of knowledge,attitude and practice of bongkrekic acid were compared and the influence factors of bongkrekic acid scores were analyzed by chi-square and logistics regression.Results A total of 10 754 valid questionnaires were finally obtained,with a validity rate of 88%(10 754/12 231).The total awareness rate of the participants was 50%for bongkrekic acid knowledge.The correct rates of practice and attitude were 50%and 43%,respectively.The overall qualification rate of prevention and control KAP for the food poisoning incident of bongkrekic acid was statistically significant among different gender,ethnicity,educational level,age,occupation,residential attributes and monthly average income group(x2=56.76,316.50,131.19,360.02,75.09,282.14,78.98;all P<0.05).Women had higher scores in the knowledge,practice and attitude than men(OR=1.649,1.207,1.108,95%CI:1.506-1.805,1.108-1.315,1.017-1.207).Knowledge scores were low for those with elementary/middle school or lower education(OR=0.615,95%CI:0.499-0.753),and those in rural areas(OR=0.613,95%CI:0.479-0.779).The knowledge and behavior scores were lower for those with monthly income<2 000 yuan than 10 000-yuan monthly income(OR=0.746,0.672,95%CI:0.615-0.903,0.565-0.799).Knowledge and behavioral scores were lower for those aged 10-<25 years old than those for other age groups.Conclusions The residents had a generally low level of knowledge and attitude;it was necessary to improve their preventive behaviors against bongkrekic acid poisoning.Health education strategies should be designed that cater to men,young,lower educational background,lower monthly income,and non-urban residents.
