The expression changes and clinical significance of serum miR-29 and miR-210 in patients with uterine fibroids
Objective To investigate the expression changes and clinical significance of serum microRNA-29(miR-29)and miR-210 in patients with uterine fibroids.Methods A total of 143 patients with uterine fibroids admitted to a tertiary hospital in Beijing from June 2016 to June 2019 were regarded as the study group,and 100 healthy individuals who underwent physical examination in this hospital during the same period and matched the general information with patients in the study group were collected as the control group.Pearson method was applied to analyze the correlation between serum miR-29 and miR-210 expression levels in patients with uterine fibroids;multivariate logistic regression was applied to analyze the relevant factors affecting the occurrence of uterine fibroids;receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was applied to analyze the diagnostic value of serum miR-29 and miR-210 for uterine fibroids.Results The expression levels of serum miR-29(1.33±0.36)and miR-210(1.26±0.33)in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group(1.02±0.16),(1.07±0.19),the differences were statistically significant(t=8.068,5.186;all P<0.001).The expression levels of serum miR-29 and miR-210 in patients with uterine fibroids were positively correlated(r=0.784,P<0.05).The proportions of patients with a history of pelvic inflammatory disease,abdominal wall fat thickness ≥20 mm,and breast hyperplasia in the study group were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(x2=4.879,4.559,4.622;all P<0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of serum miR-29 and miR-210 for diagnosing uterine fibroids was 0.762 and 0.802,respectively;the AUC for the combined detection of the two was 0.880;the combined detection of the two was better than that of serum miR-29 and miR-210 alone(Zcombined vs.miR-29=5.817,P<O.OO1;Zcombined vs.miR-210=2.928,P=0.003).History of pelvic inflammation,abdominal wall fat thickness≥20 mm,breast hyperplasia,miR-29≥1.11,miR-210≥1.17 were all risk factors for uterine fibroid(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum miR-29 and miR-210 were closely related to the occurrence of uterine fibroids,and their combined detection had high diagnostic value for uterine fibroids.
