The Millennium Courtyard is a historical and cultural prose that is the starting point of the historical culture in general, and it mainly pays attention to the destiny of intellectuals in a given historical context. This paper is the partial translationof the first chapter. After analyzing the stylistic feature, the language structure, the textual construction, the lexical feature and the rhetorical device, on the basis of the translating strategy of domestication and four-word phrases, this paper refers to the difficulties in translation and the processing ideas, and it is aimed to appreciate and analyze the meanings behind the cultural prose, so as to understand the characteristic of historical and cultural prose.
