Study of resorcinol-phenol-formaldehyde resin adhesive for wood structure engineering materials
The preparation process of resorcinol-phenol-formaldehyde resin adhesive for wood structural engineering materials was investigated by mechanical tests, infrared spectroscopy and electron microscopy analysis. The effects of raw material ratio, reaction temperature and time on the adhesive properties were discussed. The results showed that the optimal synthesis conditions of resorcinol-phenol-formaldehyde resin were as followed:molar ratio of resorcinol to phenol 1:(3-7),molar ratio of phenol to formaldehyde 1:1.5,pH value of reaction system 10.0,pre-reaction temperature 90 ℃,co-reaction temperature 65 ℃ and co-reaction time 1 h.The resin could be cured with 15%paraformaldehyde (based on the resin quality)at room temperature. The dry shear strength and wet shear strength of cured product were 13.0-14.0 MPa and 6.5-8.0 MPa,respectively and met the national standard GB/T 50708-2012 requirements.
