Preparation and performance of chitosan quaternary ammonium salt/waterborne epoxy resin system
The chitosan quaternary ammonium salt(QCS)aqueous solution was mixed with waterborne epoxy resin(WEP)to obtain a homogeneous QCS/waterborne epoxy resin system. The effect of QCS on the stability of waterborne epoxy resin system was investigated by the static experiment. The polyether amine(PEA)was used as the curing agent for WEP-QCS and the curing reaction kinetics of the WEP-QCS-PEA system was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The effect of QCS on the curing reaction of waterborne epoxy resin was studied, and the optimal curing process was determined to be 80 ℃/4 h+120 ℃/2 h.The mechanical properties of cured samples under optimal conditions were analyzed by impact tests. The results showed that the QCS/waterborne epoxy resin system had good stability, and the reaction activation energy of the system was reduced by the addition of QCS.When the QCS mass fraction was 3%,the impact strength of the WEP-QCS-PEA system was 77.1 kJ/m2,which was 32%higher than the impact strength of the pure epoxy resin system WEP-PEA cured product, which was 58.4 kJ/m2.
