Effect of chain extender on properties of millable polyurethane elastomers
Using polytetrahydrofuran ether glycol(PTMG1000),diphenylmethane diisocyanate(MDI-100)and different types of alcohol chain extenders as raw materials,a millable polyurethane elastomer(MPU)was synthesized using the prepolymer method. It was mixed and vulcanized with various rubber additives to obtain the final product. The effect of the different chain extender structures in MPU on the properties of MPU were studied by testing of mechanical properties, glass transition temperature, aging resistance and damping properties. The results showed that the MPU synthesized by α-allyl glyceryl ether had the highest mechanical properties and the best damping performance, and also had good compression fatigue resistance and thermal oxygen aging resistance.
