Study on tert-butylcyclohexyl acrylate modified polyacrylate aqueous dispersion
The aqueous polyacrylate dispersion(PHA)was prepared by solution polymerization and modified with 4-tert-butylcyclohexyl acrylate(TBCHA).The effects of dosage of initiator, isopropanol and TBCHA on dispersion and coating film performance were dis-cussed.The structure and properties of the samples were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, rotational viscometer, nanoparticle size meter and gel permeation chromatography. The results showed that with the increase of the amounts of initiator and isopropanol, the vis-cosity of PHA decreased and the relative molecular weight of the copolymer decreased. With the increase of TBCHA addition, the vis-cosity of PHA decreased significantly, and the relative molecular weight of the copolymer did not change significantly. The water absorp-tion of the adhesive film decreased first and then increased. The water contact angle of the coating film increased. The surface energy was reduced and the thermal stability was improved. When the dosage of initiator, solvent and TBCHA was 2wt%,50wt%and 15wt%,re-spectively,the dispersion with emulsion viscosity of 1 783 mPa·s and relative molecular weigat of 3 188 was prepared. The adhesion, pencil hardness and impact resistance of the coatings compounded by this dispersion could reach level 0,5H and 50 kg·cm,respective-ly,and the comprehensive performance was better.
