Effect of post-treatment condition on HDT and flexural properties of novolac epoxy vinyl ester resin
The phenolic epoxy vinyl ester resin(NEVER)was post-cured under different conditions, and its thermal defor-mation temperature(HDT),Barcol hardness and flexural properties of glass fiber reinforced plastics(FRP)were tested. It was found that when the post-curing condition was 150 ℃/2 h,the Barcol hardness of the resin and FRP flexural properties were the best, which were 55 and 177.42 MPa,respectively, and the HDT was 160.3 ℃.When the post-curing condition was 200 ℃/24 h,the highest HDT was 219.1 ℃,and the flexural strength of FRP was 151.22 MPa.With the increase of post-curing temperature(150,180,200 ℃),the HDT of the resin gradually increased, but the flexura performance gradually decreased. When the post-curing temperature was 200 ℃ and the heat treatment time was less than 12 h,the HDT of the resin increased greatly, and then the increase was very small.
