Research on Evaluation Methods of Cavitation Corrosion of Heavy-Duty Engine Coolants
Heavy-duty engines mostly use wet cylinder liners, which are prone to cavitation corrosion;hence, coolants with higher performance are required. At present,light-duty and heavy-duty coolants are generally distinguished by chemical composition in China, and relevant test standards have not been established for property evaluation;therefore, there are limitations. In the paper, through the application of ultrasonic simulation tests,in-depth research is conducted on the feasibility, differentiation and repeatability for testing the anti-cavitation corrosion properties of coolants, and the ultra-sonic cavitation corrosion evaluation method for engine coolants is further optimized and improved. The optimized method can provide effective assistance for the evaluation and development of heavy-duty coolant formulas.
