Traditional ADSL or FTTB + LAN access network uplink and downlink non - symmetric transmission makes low rate, fault point position and other disadvantages to be hardly suitable for broadband network technology needs, in a state of rapid growth in demand for broadband, and existing access network transmission bottleneck is diffi cult to meet the demand rate. Selection of PON technology, designing ODN optical distribution network to transform the access network, the combination of single fiber transmission and passive optical network, reflected the unique networking advantages. Transformation results show that in the application of PON technology in broadband access to “the last mile network”, the transmission speed is increased by 60%, overseas download speed is 800 Kbps, local download rate is up to 1.86Mbps.
