The development of Artificial Intelligence(AI)has facilitated a qualitative leap in the breadth and depth of social science research.Basic research and knowledge creation in social science is expected to exhibit a more interdisciplinary trend with a paradigm shift promoted by AI,which has a revolutionary impact on the knowledge production and dissemination of social science.On one hand,AI comprehensively empowers social science with powerful data and algorithms,on the other hand,it also significantly changes human behavior and decision-making patterns,triggers such new societal issues of morality,ethics,privacy,norms,etc.Consequently,AI governance becomes a new research focus of social science.This article analyzed the change and invariance of social science through interpreting the underlying mechanisms that AI empowers social science,and proposed measures and suggestions to the further integration between AI and social science.
