Simulation Study on Maximum Sealing Water Pressure of Lip Seal Structure at Shaft End of Gearbox
In order to ensure the reliable underwater sealing of the marine gearbox,a study on the maxi-mum sealing water pressure of the lip seal structure at the shaft end of the marine gearbox was carried out.Firstly,the hydrostatic simulation of the lip seal structure at the shaft end of the gearbox was carried out to obtain the contact width and the average contact pressure between the lip seal and the rotating shaft under the interference amount of 0.5 mm,and the heat generation of the lip seal structure was further calculated.Based on this result,the thermodynamic finite element simulation analysis of the lip seal structure was carried out to obtain the variation law of the maximum temperature of the lip seal structure with the hydraulic load under the interference amount of 0.5 mm.Finally,under the maximum tempera-ture of 150 ℃,the maximum sealing water pressure of the lip seal structure of 0.035 MPa was obtained by the simulation,and the maximum sealing water pressure at the output shaft was verified by the test,proving the correctness of the maximum sealing water pressure.The results show that the maximum tem-perature of the lip seal structure is positively correlated with the water pressure under the condition that the interference amount between the lip seal and the rotary shaft is 0.5 mm.
