Preparation and Application of Transparent Iron Oxide Yellow Colorant for Wood Wax Oil
This study examined the effects of dispersion carriers and dispersants on the particle size, transparency, stability, and compatibility of transparent iron oxide yellow pigment. The application of this pigment in wood wax oil was also explored. The results indicated that a pigment concentration of 30%achieves optimal properties—narrow particle size distribution, high transparency, excellent compatibility, and good storage stability—under the following conditions:flaxseed oil as the carrier at 20%of the pigment,D-limonene as the medium, and TB-3 block copolymer as the dispersant at 45%of the pigment, ground at 60 Hz for 60 minutes. At a 5%dosage in wood wax oil,the pigment significantly enhanced aging resistance, reducing light loss and discoloration from level 3 to level 2,and eliminating chalking and peeling from level 1 to level 0.
