Laboratory Research and Exploration of Binderless Fiberboard
Binderless fiberboard is a type of engineered wood product manufactured without the addition of any adhesives, relying instead on the inherent chemical components of the raw materials to achieve"self-bonding"under specific processing conditions. In recent years, binderless fiberboard technology has attracted significant attention from researchers due to its environmental advantages. This paper reviews the research progress in the field of binderless fiberboard, with a focus on the selection of raw materials and the pretreatment methods employed.Existing studies have shown that both wood and non-wood materials, such as agricultural waste and industrial by-products,can be used to produce binderless fiberboards.Through appropriate pretreatment methods, such as chemical treatment, hydrothermal treatment, and enzymatic treatment, the mechanical properties and dimensional stability of binderless fiberboards can be significantly improved.
