Preparation and properties of copper-loaded antibacterial viscose fiber
The copper-loaded antibacterial viscose fibers are prepared by in-situ self-reduction method.Orthogo-nal experiments are designed to optimize the preparation process. The antibacterial and wash durable properties of viscose fibers under different copper loads are tested. The impact of copper loads on the shade, moisture regain, and mechanical properties of fibers are analyzed. The thermal stability changes of viscose fibers before and after copper loading treatment are explored. The results show that the optimal process for preparing copper-loaded viscose fibers is as follows:copper sul-fate solution concentration of 4 mmol/L,reaction temperature 85℃,reaction time 120 min. With the increase of copper loads, the antibacterial performance of viscose fibers gradually enhances. When the loading copper concentration of viscose fiber is 0.58 mg/g,the antibacterial rates against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus are 95.70%and 96.42%,re-spectively.After 50 standard washes, the antibacterial rates remain high at 93.52%and 93.93%against the respective bac-teria.After copper loading treatment, there is no significant change in the color of the viscose fiber, the color depth is light-er,and the shade stability is good.Compared to untreated viscose fibers, the moisture absorption and moisture regain of the treated fibers decrease, the breaking strength increases, the breaking elongation and breaking time decrease, but the overall change is not significant.Notably,no significant changes are observed in thermal stability of viscose fibers.
