Up to now,the Chu Tomb at Mashan in Jiangling is the earliest unearthed tomb with a large number of costumes,and among the unearthed costumes,the structure of gusset is the most prominent.Taking the robe unearthed from the Chu Tomb at Mashan in Jiangling as the research object,the methods of literature analysis,data collection and comparative research are used to sort out and analyze the current applied research on sleeve crotch structure from the per-spective of garment structure.It is found that the structure of gusset in robe of Chu Tomb at Mashan is similar to other sleeve crotch structures,which are independent pieces of clothing or belong to the traditional cross-shaped plane structure.The difference is that the design starting point is different,and its functionality is also different.Through the summary,one is to promote Chu culture,the other is to expand the knowledge of sleeve crotch shape.It is expected to have reference sig-nificance for further research on the characteristics of clothing sleeve crotch shape.
