Yang Ma in Han and Wei architecture originally refers to horse-shaped statues,which are carved to bear the eaves,beams and corner of building.Horses belong to Yang,so they are called Yang Ma,and their corresponding building components,Changheng and Fei Ang can also be called this.There is a com-plex relationship between Yang Ma and,Jue,Pian,Changheng and Fei Ang."Yang Ma Cheng E"and"Yang Ma Cheng Pian"in the palace of Han and Wei Dynas-ties are only descriptions of some Yang Ma load styles.Taking Lv Xiang's annotation on Yang Ma in WenXuan as the key and combining with the cultural relics and architectural materials of Han Dynasty,we can fully understand the load style of Yang Ma and the diversity of its reference.
