As a popular piece of jewelry during the Han and Jin Dynasties,Huasheng was an important part of costume culture.Based on the correspon-dence between the name and object of Shenghua and Huasheng,combined with the ritual culture of the Han Dynasty,this paper suggests that Huasheng origi-nated from the warp shaft.Further,this paper places the origin of the Huasheng in the cultural context of the myth of the Queen Mother of the West spreading to the East and identifies the time of the Huasheng molding on the occasion of the two Han dynasties.Subsequently,this paper proposes that the Huasheng,and es-pecially its instrumental origin,played a key role in shaping the style of the Queen Mother of the West at an early stage,and the innovation of the textile technology of the two Han dynasties facilitated the changes in the image of the Queen Mother of the West wearing the Huasheng and holding the weave.
