技近乎道:版画艺术的媒介与精神

中央美术学院版画系的李帆曾在《从版画教学到艺术教育》一文中阐发过这样一个观点:学生在学习几年版画之后会形成不断转化的思维习惯,从版画创作的"动作""过程""思辨"中形成方法论,从而构建起一种"典范式思维".这一观点不仅揭示了版画创作的复杂性,同时也体现出版画从形而下的媒介到形而上的思维及精神的进化历程.通过长期实践某种物质媒介,可以形成特殊的思维方式,进而实现对于世界本质的认知.这是一种思维的启蒙和对人的创造力的开发,中国传统思想中的"技近乎道"即是此理.因此版画家在千百次的创作行为中,会通过媒介对版画形成规律性的认识和把握,令版画家在创作过程中形成思维的扩展与平移.同时,也是版画精神的固化与典范.
Perfect Technique Forms the Law:Medium and Spirit of Printmaking Art
In an essay titled From Printmaking Education to Art Education,Li Fan,a scholar of the Printmaking Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts,posited that upon several years of printmaking studies,students develop a mental proclivity to transform their perceptions.Through the"action,""process,"and"speculation"inherent in printmaking creation,they forge a methodology that constructs a"paradigmatic thinking."This viewpoint not only reveals the complexity of printmaking creation,but also reflects the evolutionary journey of printmaking from its tangible medium to an abstract realm of thought and spirit.Through long-term practice with a certain material medium,one can form a special way of thinking,thereby achieving an understanding of the essence of the world.This en-lightenment of thought and development of human creativity aligns with the Chinese traditional concept of"perfect technique forming the law."Hence,printmaker,through countless creative acts,can develop a systematic understanding and control over printmaking through the medium,allowing for an extension and transla-tion of thought in the creative process.It is also the solidification and exemplification of the printmaking spirit.
