Diagnosis of mixed infection bovine respiratory syncytial virus and pasteurella multocida A in Yak
In May 2023,an outbreak of respiratory disease and death occurred on a yak farm in northwest Sichuan. The purpose of this experiment is to make an aetiological diagnosis of the epidemic situation.Three lung samples from dead yaks were collected, and 10 common respiratory pathogens were detected by PCR.The results showed that bovine respiratory syncytial virus was detected in two samples and pasteurella multocida A in two samples,of which one sample was detected with both bovine respiratory syncytial virus and pasteurella multocida A.Combined with the clinical data and laboratory results,it was diagnosed that the outbreak of respiratory disease in yaks on this farm was caused by co-infection with bovine respiratory syncytial virus and pasteurella multocida A,providing a reliable basis for disease prevention and treatment on this farm.
