Analysis of Anti-Inflammatory and Bacteriostatic Effects of a Strain of Lactobacillus paracasei
Lactobacillus paracasei is one of the important probiotics. In this paper,a strain named GZ0613 was selected from 11 strains of L.paracasei isolated from Guizhou sauerkraut.Phenotypic identification suggested that GZ0613 showed no hemolysis, was sensitive to four antibiotics including tetracycline, had good acid and salt tolerance and adaptability to animal gastrointestinal environment, had strong adhesion ability to colon cancer cells HT-29,and had strong growth inhibi-tion activity against many common animal intestinal pathogens.Mice model of colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium(DSS),and the differences of inflammatory factor levels, inflammatory infiltration degree, anatomical characteristics and intestinal flora structure between blank control group,DSS model group and probiotic treatment group were compared. The results showed that probiotic treatment reduced the serum levels of IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α.The organ index, colorectal length and intestinal flora abundance and diversity of probiotic treated mice were more similar to those of normal mice. This indicated that GZ0613 had a preventive and alleviating effect on DSS induced colitis in mice. This study reveals the prebiotic potential of L.paracasei GZ0613,which has application prospect in animal functional food.
