In order to improve the quality of papers published in journals and study the factors affecting the citation frequency of journal papers,four journals in the field of geophysics-Chinese Journal of Geophysics,Seismology and Geology,Earthquake Research in China,Seismological and Geomagnetic Observation and Research were selected to count the citation frequency of papers published from 2017 to 2019.The research was carried out in terms of the form and content.We used linear fitting to analyze the correlation in form,and conducted statistics for comparative analysis in content.We found that in terms of form,the citation frequency of journal papers has a low correlation with the length of papers,the number of references,the number of papers published by the first author or the number of keywords.In terms of the content,the cited performance of articles on a single earthquake as the research object is better than the overall performance.New earthquake articles are better in terms of cited frequency,whereas historical earthquake articles are worse in terms of cited frequency.In view of this,in order to enhance the influence of the journal,we should focus on the content of the manuscript and improve the quality of the paper from the content.
