Study on Stability Evaluation of a Gold Mine Tailings Reservoir in Southwest Sichuan Province
Through field investigation and indoor tests, and based on two-dimensional finite element analysis software GeoStudio, indoor numerical simulation, the seepage, stress strain, and stability of a gold mine tailings pond in southwestern Sichuan were studied and analyzed. The results show that:(l)The pore water pressure increases gradually from top to bottom, with the maximum value of 864.98kPa and the minimum value of-173.27kPa under normal conditions. The maximum value of 874.49kPa and the minimum value of-182.27kPa under flood conditions.(2)During normal operation, the maximum horizontal displacement of tailings is 25 cm and the maximum vertical displacement is 28 cm.When the flood is running, the maximum horizontal displacement of tailings is 34 cm,and the maximum vertical displacement is 35 cm.(3)When the tailings dam operates under three operating conditions, normal, flood, and special, the stability calculation results meet the requirements of the specifications.
