Research Progress on Plant Fiber-reinforced Polylactic Acid(PLA)Composites
The research progress on plant fiber-reinforced polylactic acid(PLA)composites were reviewed, the existing challenges were analyzed, and future directions were outlined. The review encompasses the characteristics of plant fibers, preparation methods, and performance enhancements. It demonstrates that plant fibers such as bamboo and hemp significantly improve the mechanical properties and thermal stability of PLA while retaining its biodegradability. However, challenges persist, including insufficient inter-facial adhesion between fibers and the matrix and poor fiber dispersion.Advanced modification techniques, such as silanization,plas-ma treatment, and the incorporation of nanotechnology, have shown considerable improvements in the overall performance of these composites.
