Analysis and Prevention of the Decrease in Chilled Water Flow Rate in the Pre Cooling System of an Air Separation Unit
An analysis is conducted on the reasons for the decrease in chilled water flow rate in the pre cooling system of a large air separation unit in a certain company. It is believed that the main reason for the decrease in chilled water flow rate in the pre cooling system is the excessive hardness and high dust content of the desalinated water, which leads to pipeline scaling. After taking a series of targeted preventive and treatment measures, the chilled water flow rate was restored to the design value, and the compressed air temperature at the outlet of the air cooling tower significantly decreased, reducing energy consumption and improving production efficiency. The subsequent load of the molecular sieve adsorption system was also reduced, providing a guarantee for the long-term and stable operation of the air separation unit.
