The Path of Improving the Efficiency of Preschool Education Resource Allocation in the Western China:an Empirical Analysis Based on DEA-Malmquist and fsQCA Methods
In order to improve the efficiency of preschool education resource allocation in western China, using the input and output panel data of preschool education resources in 12 provinces in western China from 2014 to 2021,the DEA-Malmquist index method was employed to measure efficiency, and the fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis(fsQCA)was used to analyze the key factor combinations influencing the efficiency of preschool education resource allocation in western China and to explore development path.It is found that the efficiency of preschool education resource allocation in western China shows a decreasing trend, and no single factor can constitute the necessary condition for the improvement of preschool education resource allocation efficiency, and multiple paths exist for achieving high efficiency of preschool education resource allocation in western China.Based on the configuration analysis using fsQCA,two types of paths are proposed to improve the efficiency of preschool education resource allocation:the"teacher quality and funding-driven"model and the"urbanization level and teacher competence-driven"model.Accordingly,the following recommendations for improving preschool education resource allocation efficiency in western China are proposed:first, preschool education resources should be allocated reasonably according to local conditions;second, the external environment should be optimized to promote the efficient allocation of preschool education resources;third, funding should be reasonably increased to strengthen the construction of high-level teaching staff.
