The Relationship Between Preschool Children's Psychological Pressure and Parents'Anxiety During the Transition Period from Preschool to Primary School
To explore the relationship between preschool children's psychological pressure and parents'anxiety during the transition period from preschool to primary school,a questionnaire survey was conducted on 249 senior kindergarten children and their parents from 8 kindergartens in Hefei City using the Anxiety Scale for Parents of Senior Kindergarten Children and the Psychological Pressure Scale for Children During the Transition Period from Preschool to Primary School. The results showed that the total score and the scores of each dimension of anxiety of parents of senior kindergarten children were at a moderate level, and children's psychological pressure was also at a moderate level, with the highest score in the dimension of adult reward and punishment. Both parents'anxiety and children's psychological pressure exhibited significant differences across demographic variables. The psychological pressure of preschool children was significantly positively correlated with their parent's anxiety.Specifically, parents'anxiety related to social adaptation, material environment adaptation, school admission and selection had a significant positive predictive effect on their children's psychological pressure.Based on these findings,it is recommended that parents, when engaging in preschool-to-primary school transition education, should move away from one-sided concepts of transition, acknowledge the appropriate existence of anxiety, focus on individual's internal regulation, enhance positive guidance and experience, thereby providing a favorable educational atmosphere for their children during the transition period from preschool to primary school.
