A Study on the Threshold Effect of Digital Economy on Carbon Productivity
The development of digital economy is an inevitable choice for achieving regional low-carbon transformation. The article is based on panel data from 30 provinces in China from 2013 to 2021, and uses multiple econometric models to empirically test the impact of the digital economy on carbon productivity. Research has found that:(1) the digital economy can significantly improve regional carbon productivity, and this conclusion still holds after a series of robustness tests;(2)The threshold model analysis found that when the intensity of environmental regulations is at a lower level and the degree of urbanization is within a higher range, the promotion effect of the digital economy on carbon productivity is stronger;(3)The spatial model analysis found that there is a significant spatial spillover effect of the digital economy on carbon productivity. The research conclusion of this article provides a certain reference for promoting the development of digital economy and improving carbon productivity.
