Genome-Wide Association Analysis of Seed Vigor-Related Traits in Wheat
[Objective]The aims of this study are to identify loci related to the wheat seed vigor and ex-plore candidate genes, providing theoretical basis for breeding high-vigor varieties.[Method]We used 404 wheat accessions with extensive genetic background as test materials, and determined 11 seed vigor-related traits, and performed genome-wide association analysis by combining genotypic information with the parameters of vigor-related traits.[Result]The twenty-eight QTL loci related to the seed vigor were identified.[Conclusion]Two potential novel loci controlling seed vigor in wheat were identified, and 80 candidate genes were identified in two new loci, including TraesCS4A01G020000.1 encoding the LEA protein and TraesCS5B01G298500.1 encoding the de-helicase enzyme, which are specifically expressed in seeds and highly correlated with seed vigor.
