Characteristics of Soil Macropores in Ratoon Sugarcane Fields in Southwest Yunnan
[Objective]Accurately understanding the variation characteristics of soil pores of ratoon sug-arcane fields would provide the basis for soil management, soil hydrological forecasting and prediction in sugarcane cultivation.[Method]The soil macropores of sugarcane fields with varying slopes, ratoon years and soil layers were determined using spatial instead of temporal method combined with soil water breakthrough curve method.[Result]The results showed that the macropore radius of 40 cm deep soil in ratoon sugarcane field ranged from 0.3 to 3.6 mm.In addition, with the increase of pore size and soil depth, the number of macropores decreased significantly.Furthermore, with the increase of slope and ra-toon year, the number of macropores<0.6 mm decreased more significantly. The average radius of soil macropores reached the largest in the fourth year after planting, and the difference of the average radius between years mainly appeared on the slope field. The area ratio and average volume of macropores in slope field showed a decreasing trend with the increase of ratoon years.[Conclusion]Under the ratoon management of sugarcane field, the number of deep and small size pores tends to decrease, thus the man-agement of deep fertilization or in-situ soil loosening should be strengthened.
