Effects of Light Intensity on the Growth,Photosynthetic Characteristics and Quality of Mesembryanthemum crystallinum in a Plant Factory
[Objective]Using Mesembryanthemum crystallinum as the experimental material and LED lamp as the light source,the effects of different light intensities on the photosynthetic characteristics and nutritional quality of M.crystallinum were studied.We aim to screen out the optimal light intensity to promote the forma-tion of M.crystallinum.[Method]Under hydroponic conditions,different light intensities(100,150,200 and 250 μmol/(m2·s)were applied to analyze the effects of light intensity on the growth,photosynthetic char-acteristics and nutritional quality of M.crystallinum.[Result]① At the light intensity of 200 μmol/(m2·s),the agronomic traits,such as plant height,root length,stem thickness,dry fresh weight of the aboveground part,dry fresh weight of the underground part,and leaf row index were the best;② At the light intensity of 200 μmol/(m2·s),the chlorophyll a,b and total chlorophyll contents were the highest.The net photosyn-thetic rate(Pn),stomatal conductance(Gs)and transpiration rate Tr increased first and then decreased with the increase of light intensity,while intercellular CO2(Ci)showed a trend of first decreasing and then rising.Among the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters,the maximum photochemical efficiency(Fv/Fm)and photo-chemical quenching coefficient(qP)values of photosystem PSⅡ.were higher,while the non-photochemical quenching coefficient(NPQ)increased with the increase of light intensity;③ At the light intensity of 200 μmol/(m2·s),the soluble sugar and soluble protein showed the best state,vitamin C did not change much,and the nitrate content was the lowest.[Conclusion]When the light intensity was 200 μmol/(m2·s),it was beneficial to the growth,and the improvement of photosynthesis and quality of M.crystallinum.
