Grain Nutrient Characteristics of Different Grain Cadmium Accumulation Wheat Under Different Cadmium Environments
[Objective]The aim of this study was to better understand the characteristics of beneficial nu-trients and cadmium(Cd)in wheat grains and to identify materials with grains that have low Cd content and high levels of beneficial nutrients.[Method]A pot experiment was conducted to achieve this objec-tive.The study examined the Cd content,as well as the content of main nutrient elements and beneficial microelements in the grains of ten different wheat varieties with varying Cd accumulation levels. These va-rieties were grown in four different soils with varying Cd concentrations. The varieties included five with low-Cd accumulation and five with high-Cd accumulation, respectively.[Result]The Cd content in the grains was found to be significantly and positively correlated with the soil Cd content. The low-Cd accu-mulation wheat varieties exhibited a lower Cd migration coefficient across the four different Cd soils, while the high-Cd accumulation ones demonstrated higher Cd absorption and transport efficiency from the soil to the grain. As soil Cd content increased, the content of N,P,K,Cu and Mn in the grains of low-Cd accumulation wheat decreased, while their Ca and Fe content increased, and their Mg and Zn content did not change significantly.Conversely,in high-Cd accumulation wheat, the content of P,K,Ca,Mg and Zn in the grains increased with increasing soil Cd,the Cu content decreased, and the N and Mn content showed no significant changes.[Conclusion]The response of low-Cd and high-Cd accumula-tion wheat to the absorption and transport of Cd and other beneficial nutrients from the soil to the grain was significantly different across the four different Cd soils.High-Cd accumulation wheat showed strong Cd tolerance, which was synergistic with most major and trace elements. In contrast,low-Cd accumula-tion wheat exhibited poor Cd tolerance and was antagonistic with most elements.
